I think the comment is great, and is needed more today than any time before. We live in a time when people only seek to investigate and read what already affirms their own points of views.
I try very hard NOT to do this and will often read books, articles and reports that take the exact opposite viewpoint of mine. That is how we grow, change, and question what is around us.

Aristotle’s quote is pointing in this same direction
