It is quite inspiring to see such interest in this genre of subjects here amongst us today, it is a rarity, it's often looked at as tedious homework material. I just recently started reading a book about Greek Myths. After reading your post I had to skip a whole lot of pages to get to Echo and Narcissus. Sadly, the book doesn't say much, so I thank you for the details.

I'm a Salvador addict. Great visual.

I am absolutely positive that you get so many compliments, your writing is absolutely entertaining.

Fedaykin,

You are perfectly right. A flower did grow in Narcissus' place, I took the license and did not post that bit because quite frankly the post seemed excessively long already. Point taken, and I would love to see the myth performed. Welcome to Tololy's Box!

Jameel,

The Box must be looked down upon with favour, two new minds visited it. You are most welcome to share your views and opinions, and definitely welcome in Tololy's Box.

Excellent, I heard bits of this myth before, but reading it here with this detail gave it beautiful literary dimension.
I always wonder and look for the explanation and origin of proverbs and metaphors we use in our daily life.
Your posts are interesting and informative, keep it up.

Wow...I love that story....have done ever since we did Tales From Ovid as our first year play at uni. Echo and Narcissus was one of the most moving, except for some reason, I remember Narcissus turning into a flower (a narcissium, funnily enough). Still, beautiful story...I can just imagine the tortured look in the actress's eye when he told her to leave him be....good imagery.
