Essendo stata una studentessa alla facoltà d’arte nell’Università di Giordania, specializzazione di Lingua e Letteratura Italiana e Inglese, sono stata colpita dalla notizia che mi è arrivata che tutti gli studenti delle doppie specializzazioni (Lingua italiana, spagnola, tedesca- più inglese) non possono seguire la loro isturzione superiore in inglese in quella università.
Se accettiamo il fatto che non c’è nessun programma o corso di istruzione superiore in tutta la Giordania nella lingua italiana, non credo che reusciamo ad accettare che noi, che abbiamo studiato la bellissima lingua italiana nel corso di tre or quattro anni, abbiamo gettatto il nostro tempo via, e non possiamo neanche continuare a studiare in inglese.
Non è un problema semplice questo, perché ci sono tanti ostacoli nella via di quelli che studiano una lingua straniera, ad eccezione dell’inglese o il francese. Quello che ho citato è uno dei problemi, e per me, è il più significativo.
You’re kidding! we can’t continue our post-graduate studies in English!! why?????????????????? Spanish is good but I prefer English literature :(
BTW I took italioano 1+2, I didn’t like it because I was afraid to confuse it with Spanish… but a little from here and a little froom there I could gather what you’e talking about in general =) I like that! Latin languages are nothing but misnomors!
I would not know “the why” behind it exactly, but that is the news I hear. They say it is because we are not majoring in English alone. But isn’t that the point of a “double” major? to major in two things?
Oddly enough, sense has it that if they don’t want us to continue studying in English, then they might as well provide an alternative or perhaps cancel the troublesome specializations. Some say those in “power” think that students who are double majoring in English + another language are not as competent as those who major in Engilsh alone, and all I have to say to that is : Test us.
I’ve been told that if you can master French then speaking Italian and Spanish would be every so easy to pick up and master. Too bad I didn’t understand a word except maybe doppio (is it two?).
