This report has resulted in a series of statements from the government, QIZ companies and the union of textile workers who have all different views. You can follow the coverage of al Ghad newspaper on Friday and Saturday for more details. I personally belive all the information of the American report since I have heared about such bad treatment a long time ago.

That said, the issue of exploited household labor is a global scandal. In the states, Latin American refugees play a large role in the domestic labor force. In the nineties, a candidate for U.S. Attorney General--Zoe Baird--had to withdraw her name from consideration when she was discovered to have hired illegal workers to work as a chauffer and nanny.

Blogs can always be corrected. Don't too obsessed over spelling errors when you write. Many writers allow their "internal editor" to kick in while they write--which clashes with the creating impulse, thus creating the mental logjam known as writer's block. Sometimes the best way to compose is to blank out the screen while you compose. Then, when your first draft is completed, turn the screen on & attend to revision and editing.

Trust me. Thirteen years of teaching writing & professional editing, you pick up all the tricks. :)

I couldn't agree more, Hal. Say, and allow me to go severely off-topic here, why didn't anyone alert me to the fact that I'd typed "what" instead of "was" in that last question of mine? (The error is gone now, but my heart is not well. I cannot tolerate spelling mistakes or other writing-related errors).
