They really do that in some countries, where they have a lot of car plants and where most people can actually afford gas.
If any of you would like to donate a car, old or new (it does not make a difference), please drop me a line. I know people who desperately need cars and I am positive this mighty good deed will book you a front seat in heaven. Guaranteed.
I retain the exclusive right to take my pick of donated cars for my personal use. If you have a problem with that, contact my lawyer.
In the meantime, take a look at my wish list which was just recently put up after I succumbed to the temptation (and gave in to friendly nagging) of having one for the grand public. This list is under The Box category in the babylonian sidebar.
May I also remind you that my birthday is on August 13th?
<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman";">I donated 7 cars already. Most went to "<st1:city _moz-userdefined="" w:st="on">Seattle</st1:city> society for the blind" and Islamic <st1:place _moz-userdefined="" w:st="on"><st1:placetype _moz-userdefined="" w:st="on">school</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename _moz-userdefined="" w:st="on">Seattle</st1:placename></st1:place>. <br />
But I have to admit my intentions were not 100% Charitable. I’m not Bill Gates
you know. The reason I did that was because every time I did that I get a huge
tax break of the full retail value of the donated car. So if I buy the car for
5,000 and the book value is 12,000 I am getting a 7,000 tax break AND giving to
charity. Not a bad deal<br />
This is the difference between the system here and in <st1:country-region _moz-userdefined="" w:st="on"><st1:place _moz-userdefined="" w:st="on">Jordan</st1:place></st1:country-region>. People
are encouraged to donate in the <st1:country-region _moz-userdefined="" w:st="on"><st1:place _moz-userdefined="" w:st="on">US</st1:place></st1:country-region>.
While they’re penalized for it in <st1:country-region _moz-userdefined="" w:st="on"><st1:place _moz-userdefined="" w:st="on">Jordan</st1:place></st1:country-region></span>
:( I hate Aug 13th <br />Sorry, but like 10 years ago it came on a friday, and I had the worst accident in my life :(<br /><br />But Happy birthday in advance<br />
