Sell your soul to the devil

In Bits & pieces on July 8, 2006 at 10:26 am

Doctor Faustus did it. He called on Mephastophilis, a devil, to inform Lucifer that he offers him his soul.

Human tragedy, human ecstasy, and human life- they’re never about the angels and demons He sends but rather about your own disorientation. What happens when you’re uncertain damages your soul beyond repair even if you find your path afterwards. It remains with you, little fingers that pinch you all the time.

Faustus begs for mercy during his last hours. He tries to repent but it’s too late by then, it’s his own offer that sealed his fate. A host of devils carry his soul to hell where it suffers in eternal damnation.

 1. We always talk about selling our souls, why not talking about buying our souls? and are we really own our souls?
2.
Hi,

I agree, and selling one’s soul takes many forms I think, but I don’t know if the person who sells his/her soul know what s/he is doing? or if s/he knows the concequences,i really don’t know, I liked the post, thanks for sharing.

 3. Quoting German literature!? That’s a change. :)

 4. Well, thats if anybody had a soul to start with; After that one might think of who he wants to sell it to!!

 5.
Yes finally my favorite topic is posted. I wish I can yack about this but I must limit my words to a simple comment. They say that the past will be gone, and never haunt you back. No. Everything happened in the past, is a permanent mark, and scars on our bodies, and minds, and as you said, will pinch us whenever there is a chance to.

At night, when all are asleep, suddenly, you feel those creatures sneaking out of your mind, and start their nightly chant while you look scared of what they will do. Well, they will display in front of you, just like a TV screen, your past, and keep torturing you the whole night. Yes permanent marks, will never go away

 6. I think Nietzsche would tell Dr. Faustus that he needs to assert his own power and stop begging someone else to recognize his "repentance".

But that’s just what I think.
7. Did Chriss Angel sell his soul?
