On this rather strange day
This is the day I discovered my father can swear in Italian and my mother thought I looked prettier than Penelope Cruz and that I have started a ritual of mentally addressing myself in third person.

Why of course I was, Beti. I am now also entertained by all your questions!

Prettier than Ms. Cruz? That is something. I am a big fan of hers.

Ok, nice that you were impressed. What other languages can he swear in?

Khalidah, you flatter me beyond words. I am a fan of Penelope and oddly enough, people keep telling me I look like her. So, go figure! Thank you.

Hareega, don’t swear around Italians or you’ll get in trouble.

Abu Sinan, I am a fan of hers too. She’s stylish and attractive, and the accent never hurt anyone.

Beti, I think time will reveal that. It took me 22 years to find out the Italian talent, God only knows how long it will take to find out about all the rest. Smile!

The Spanish accent is nice, but so is the Arabic one, so dont count yourself out.

Are you going to make a run on Hollywood? Seriously speaking, if Americans knew how good looking Arab women are maybe they would be more interested in marrying them than bombing them.

As an American married to an Arab, I can honestly tell them they dont know what they are missing.
