3- Review of Allegra Stratton’s book “Muhajababes,” which is an account of emerging socio-religious trends in the Arab world. A review by Laura Miller, complete with a picture of Haifa Wehbe and a profile of Amr Khaled (who was in Jordan the other day).

I disagree with Juan Cole most of the time, but when he’s right, he’s right. And he’s right about this racial profiling business. It’s almost certainly unconstitutional and is certainly reprehensible in any case. Any society that truly values liberty should utterly reject such shenanigans.

Vincent, I don’t think Juan Cole is the first person to make such an argument! That’s one of the reasons I despise the guy! H’e s derivitive hack, and more often than not he doesn’t even steal other peoples opinions properly! Since he thinks he’s smarter than the people he borrows from, he modifies their positions in order to make them seem like his own. Very annoying.
