Remember the camels? They are still around. Only now, they actually roam the streets surrounding where they graze and they some times defy passing cars by posing in the middle of the street. I don’t think this is legal.
I know how popular the camels are with you guys, so I took a couple of pictures with my phone for your viewing pleasure. If this sounds like I am confirming the stereotype of Arabs as camel-herding people, then let me unequivocally say that I am as amused as anyone by these REALLY big creatures being loose like this very close to where I live. It’s bizarre.

I didn’t realize they were so big… they look huge! Reminds me of the bison herd (what people call Buffalo) down at Camp Pendleton. Do they move out of the way if you honk at them?
cuuuuuuutee!!!
Craig, yes they are really big. I never tried to honk at them. I just stop my car and wait until they move out of the way at their convenience. I don’t want to upset/scare anything this big… I think if one of them decides to hit a car the car would be really damaged and the camel would be fine.
Arabista, the small ones are kinda cute. The big ones? Not pet material at all!
hahaha
in Amman? so weird.
never knew that they came in colours
That’s awesome…Deer…pffft give me some camels. We only see them in zoo’s here ;)
Like Craig, I’m somewhat taken aback by their size. It reminds me a bit of this herd of elk that used to roam around out near where I grew up. They don’t SEEM like they’d be that big, but in reality, they’re fairly large animals.
